Maxwell's equations are among the most importnat equiations in science and technology. The equations are the basis for a very accurate model of classic electromagnetic phenomena in nature. The results of these equations are used everywehre in our surroundings, not least in communication and home electronics. The aim of the course is to give a deeper understanding of the background to these eqations and to enable the student to apply hte eqations to advanced electromagnitic problems.
Kunskap och förståelse
För godkänd kurs skall doktoranden Hve obtained a deeper understanding of the electromagnetic theory (including special relativity theory), it's physical background and applications.
Färdighet och förmåga
För godkänd kurs skall doktoranden be able to identify, model, formulate and solve complex elektromagnetic field problems in technical applications.
The basic equations of classical electromagnetism, relativity and the main modeling methods in the subject.
