The aim of the course is to significantly improve the doctoral student's ability to teach mathematics at university level.

Concrete elements that deal with education, teaching planning
and examination are included. Various theories about students' mathematics learning are presented and a
overview of research in the field provided.

be able to describe and use some theories for learning mathematics
be familiar with different research areas och research results in mathematics education
be able to use differents methods for evaluation of the mathematical knowledge of university students.

have developed his/her ability to plan and carry out teaching, including supervision and examination, in mathematical subjects.

through a project have been given an introduction to research on mathematics education.

be able to, from a scientific and empiric perspective, describe and evaluate
a) learning in mathematical subjects at the individual level and at the group level.
b) the teacher's duties in teaching and examination of mathematical subjects at the university level.

be able to plan and carry out his or her own studies of learning situations in mathematics
