Teach theory and methodology for adaptive control
Knowledge and Understanding
For a passing grade the doctoral student must Demonstrate enough knowledge to implement algorithms. Demonstrate understanding of proofs of central results.
Competences and Skills
For a passing grade the doctoral student must Be able to apply main results to simple practical applications. Be able to create simple implementations for simulation of adaptive control systems.
Judgement and Approach
For a passing grade the doctoral student must Show ability to judge when adaptive control is a feasible and realistic approach, in comparison to robust control or gain scheduling.
Background in robust control and gain scheduling. Theory for minimax adaptive control, model reference adaptive control, real time parameter estimation and self tuning regulators.
