Aim

The aim of the course is to provide participants with specialised knowledge of a certain area within R&D projects.

Goals

Knowledge and Understanding

For a passing grade the doctoral student must demonstrate specialised insight into a defined issue within the application or theory of project management.

Competences and Skills

For a passing grade the doctoral student must be able to place the area of specialisation within a specific context.

Judgement and Approach

For a passing grade the doctoral student must be able to take a position on the specific circumstances of the project.

Course Contents

The course deals with an issue in project management selected by the participant in dialogue with the course director.

Course Literature

The required reading is determined during the course and based on the project work selected by the participant.

Instruction Details

Type of instruction: Project. The participants produce an analysis of relevant literature and, in certain cases, compile empirical data to address the selected issue. Reports are made both orally and in writing (in groups and individually).

Examination Details

Examination formats: Written report, seminars given by participants. For a Pass on the course, participants must have produced an analysis of an area of project management theory and its application, and oral and written reports of the area. If the examiner finds that there are valid reasons, a participant may have certain components assessed in a different manner.

Admission Details

Admission requirements: To be admitted to the course applicants have to be admitted to a PhD programme at LTH and passed the course GEM011F Project Management in R&D Projects.
Selection criteria: Priority is given to 1) students who have previously applied to the course and were eligible at the time, 2) students who are closest to finishing their PhD programmes.
