The aims of this course are to give students the opportunity to obtain and demonstrate how new scientific understanding and knowledge is obtained from observation, analyses and background knowledge.

The aims of this course are to give students the opportunity to obtain and demonstrate how new scientific understanding and knowledge is obtained from observation, analyses and background knowledge.

Obtain an understanding of the principles for scientific argumentation

Analyze the structure of scientific argumentation.
Critically evaluate the strength and weaknesses of a chain of arguments.

Critically analyze and judge the strength and quality of a scientific statement.

Seminarier

2 seminars are planned based on articles by the student or by another relevant author that are to be evaluated relative to the theory presented in the textbook.

To be admitted to the course, participants must normally have a second-cycle degree (master level)

Engineering or Science-based education on master level.

Students that have the course as a mandatory course according to their curriculum are prioritized.
