Aim
  • Teach theory and methodology for adaptive control
Contents
  • Background in robust control and gain scheduling. Theory for minimax adaptive control, model reference adaptive control, real time parameter estimation and self tuning regulators.
Knowledge and Understanding
  • For a passing grade the doctoral student must
  • Demonstrate enough knowledge to implement algorithms. Demonstrate understanding of proofs of central results.
Competences and Skills
  • For a passing grade the doctoral student must
  • Be able to apply main results to simple practical applications. Be able to create simple implementations for simulation of adaptive control systems.
Judgement and Approach
  • For a passing grade the doctoral student must
  • Show ability to judge when adaptive control is a feasible and realistic approach, in comparison to robust control or gain scheduling.
