Aim
  • The aim of the course is to develop the ability to make mathematical models for a wide range of physical processes, such as, bicycles, cars, aircraft, and industrial processes. The intention is that the models will be used to develop regulators for the processes.
Contents
  • model building methodology, differential algebraic systems, model transformations, modelica, circuit theory, power systems, mechanical systems, friction models, bicycles, cars, boats, aircraft, thermal and fluid systems, steam generators, compartment models, neurons
Knowledge and Understanding
  • For a passing grade the doctoral student must
  • Have a broad understanding of mathematical models and how they are used to describe physical processes.
    Understand how the models can be used to develop controllers for the processes.
Competences and Skills
  • For a passing grade the doctoral student must
  • Have the ability to make great models for a wide range of systems.
    Have good skills in using Modelica tools such as Modelon Impact and Modia.

  • For a passing grade the doctoral student must
