The course is a optional addition to "Fundamentals of Information Theory", in which additional knowledge is gained by means of an individual project.

For a passing grade the doctoral student must

For a passing grade the doctoral student must have demonstrated the ability to independently acquire expert knowledge within a self-selected sub-area and present it to peers
Judgement and Approach
For a passing grade the doctoral student must have demonstrated the ability to independently extract the important content of an extensive document, such as a textbook or a scientific publication
Within the project each student selects a topic for additional self-studies (book chapter or publications)
Type of instruction: Project. The project course should be done in close connection with the course "Fundamentals of Information Theory"
Examination format: Seminars given by participants.
A presentation about the project is given to all participants.
Grading scale: Failed, pass
