The course is based on an interaction between theoretical perspectives with practical elements. At this course, we combine students at the Doctoral level with practitioners from various activities such as MSB, Swedish Armed Forces and the Red Cross. Both groups acquire theoretical knowledge and will jointly develop a fictional project plan to integrate gender into a project that is relevant to disaster reduction or climate change. These fictional projects, in turn, form the basis of student-led seminars where particularly important issues are addressed with the facilitation of teachers. It is developed on five themes. – Un packing Sex, Gender and Sexuality in Disaster and Climate risks reduction: Perspec-tives from the Scandinavia and South Asia. – The question of gender in “Building back better” and “Climate smart”. – Gender, Power and Politics in Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation. – Gender and Participation: Disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation. – Gender and research: Feminist research in relation to Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster risk reduction.
