  • For a passing grade the doctoral student must
  • Obtain an understanding of the principles for scientific argumentation
Competences and Skills
  • For a passing grade the doctoral student must
  • Analyze the structure of scientific argumentation.
    Critically evaluate the strength and weaknesses of a chain of arguments.
Judgement and Approach
  • For a passing grade the doctoral student must
  • Critically analyze and judge the strength and quality of a scientific statement.
Types of Instruction
  • Seminars
  • 2 seminars are planned based on articles by the student or by another relevant author that are to be evaluated relative to the theory presented in the textbook.
Examination Formats
  • Seminars given by participants
  • Is approved by the examinor.
  • Failed, pass
Admission Requirements
  • To be admitted to the course, participants must normally have a second-cycle degree (master level)
Assumed Prior Knowledge
  • Engineering or Science-based education on master level.
Selection Criteria
  • Students that have the course as a mandatory course according to their curriculum are prioritized.
